The increasingly competitive pig production industry in
Poland has gained access to Uniferon®, the industry-leading
injectable iron supplement.
A recent introduction of the industry-leading injectable iron
supplement Uniferon® to pig producers in Poland paves the way for
even more competitiveness for the Polish pig farmers. The
introduction is furthermore another significant step for
Pharmacosmos, the Danish pharmaceutical company that has developed
and produces Uniferon.
Pharmacosmos is acknowledged as a global leader in iron
deficiency treatments for both humans and animals. The company's
Uniferon, an all-natural injectable iron supplement for newborn
piglets, is used by pig farmers throughout the world.
"Having Uniferon in Poland is a great opportunity to give our
piglets the best quality iron available. The decline in pig
production and pig population in Poland has made the market even
more competitive. Facing this, farmers are looking for the best
available management and supplementation of their herds to bring
the best possible products to the market. We believe Uniferon to a
very promising product as it meets the farmers' needs and
expectations," said Tomasz Paluch from Vetoquinol in Poland.
"The introduction in Poland is yet another important step for
Pharmacosmos and we believe Vetoquinol to be a very good and
professional match for us. Uniferon is approved in Europe, Asia and
North America, including FDA approval in the United States, and the
Polish pig farmers are now assured an injectable iron that adheres
to the highest standards of quality, safety and efficacy.
Furthermore, the farmers can join the global best practice
community by administering iron to newborn piglets, thus promoting
optimal growth and general health as well as avoiding detrimental
anaemia," said Jens Fabricius, Vice President, Marketing &
Business Operations at Pharmacosmos A/S.
